This auction is for an antique Mauchline ware box that has advertising for Clark's Spool Cotton thread. It looks like it could hold eight small spools of thread. The front has two pictures of large buildings from a World's Exposition, but I don't know which one. The inside has illustrations of medals won at other expositions. They are dated from the 1860's. The two buildings on the front are labeled as "Art Gallery" and Main Building", but it doesn't state which fair it is from. The front of the box is marked "Made of wood which grew near Alloway Kirk on the banks of the Doon". It measures about 3 7/8" x 2 3/8" x 1 3/8".
